The Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 is a premium smart doorbell built for homeowners who want sharper video, faster alerts, and a more complete view of their front porch. It replaces your existing wired doorbell and connects to your home Wi-Fi, streaming live HD video straight to your phone whenever someone approaches your door. With its sleek, low-profile design, it blends into modern and traditional entryways alike while packing serious security hardware inside. At the core of this device is 3D Motion Detection with customizable zones, letting you focus alerts on walkways, driveways, or porches instead of passing cars or trees. The Head-to-Toe view captures visitors from a closer range, so you actually see packages on the ground and full-body detail, not just a floating face. Color Night Vision keeps that same clarity after sunset, and the interactive Quick Replies let you respond to visitors automatically when you cannot get to your phone. Setup requires existing low-voltage doorbell wiring for continuous power, and a compatible chime or transformer for indoor alerts. Paired with a Ring Protect subscription, it unlocks video recording, person alerts, and sharing clips with neighbors through the Ring app. For anyone building a connected entryway, it works alongside other Ring cameras, smart locks, and Alexa devices to create a single, unified view of who comes and goes.
Customer reviews
Swapped out my old doorbell in under thirty minutes. The head-to-toe view actually shows full deliveries instead of just a face, which is exactly what I wanted.
Night vision colors are surprisingly good and motion zones cut down on notifications from the street. Only complaint is the app has a lot of menus to dig through.
Had to get an electrician to check my old wiring, but once it was hooked up the connection has been rock solid and alerts arrive almost instantly.
Noticeably sharper footage than my previous doorbell. Wish more features were free without the subscription, but overall a dependable device.
